You know, there’s a really big religious holiday we tend to overlook. It’s one of the biggest feasts in the Church year and it’s Pentecost! It’s right behind Easter and Christmas but somehow it gets lost. It’s the coming of the 3rd member of the Holy Trinity! I don’t think we have any clue to how important this holiday is for us – the decent of the Holy Spirit.  We don’t get it. The coming of the Holy Spirit needs to be celebrated big time.

Motivated by this glorious feast, we decided to host our first annual Pentecost Party. We started out small, and just invited five people. We had fun planning the menu. All the food would be red or yellow like the flames of the Holy Spirit. Who doesn’t like a theme party?

To me, there is nothing better than sharing a meal, stories, laughter and your faith with a group of close friends. We all need each other.

This is a beautiful prayer. Call upon the Holy Spirit to help you with finding a spouse, a career or new position, a new home, anything you need help to seek guidance. The Holy Spirit is here!

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Yes, there will be a second annual Pentecost Party. I hope you will consider having one too.
