It’s movie time – but this is not Hollywood folks.
As many of you know, I use a phone app to make a movie every year called One Second A Day.
It’s hard to believe that this is my 4th year of recording a One Second a Day movie. This one began April 9, 2020 and goes to April 9, 2021. In 2017 my journey of making these little movies began. I’m so glad I started doing this. The beginning of April is such a suitable time for a new year to begin. The buds, the blossoms, the new life of Spring surrounds us. So much of life is unpredictable, fragile yet wonderful. This year of course was different from the others because we spent most of it in lock down.
The year was highlighted with our first grandchild Peter and new poodle puppy Oliver. Oh the joy they bring me. People say the covid lock down help us all to prioritize our lives. It’s easy to figure out what you prioritize when you see the summary of your year. For me it’s my faith -just getting the final blessing at mass gives me such comfort, strength, and courage. I love joking with my husband, having family over, pop ins with friends, the preciousness of a neighbor girl and my neighborhood itself and the joy our little dogs give us. This clever app on my phone helps me to pause and see something good in every single day, reminds me to enjoy each season, share laughter, stay playful and see beauty in people and in nature. I’m more thankful than ever that we did not give into fear this year but rather lived our life with more conviction. We were able to get to NYC, Stockbridge, and Lake Placid and finally Florida.
We are all born with a unique purpose and calling. Each of us were created to live our life in this specific moment in history. There are important people that are not in these little movies anymore. It’s amazing how much death can inspire us to live. To honor them. We are not here for long. And that is why I like to live my life for something more. Something greater. Something endless. The next one second begins now. I think I hear a bird chirping. Cheers.

Life is fleeting, and something to be treasured. Thanks for sharing your slice of life with us, and showing us all what is important. Carry on, Cousin! xoxo
