February is American Heart month and since 2010, Nardin Academy has celebrated it with the popular, high energy, fun and playful school jump roping competition. The seriousness of heart disease and signs and symptoms of cardiac disease are discussed and so are ways to stay heart -healthy through food and exercise choices. But the culmination of February and Heart Month is the jump roping competition. Yes, you can become famous on a plague hanging in the athletic halls of Nardin Academy. How do we encourage healthy hearts and keep our girls staying young, playful, and having fun with their classmates? It’s simple, it’s innocent, it’s brilliant – it’s the annual jump roping competition. The freshman form their team, just like the sophomores, the juniors and the seniors. The applause begins! The show begins! Cue the Music and let the jumping begin!
Thank you Nardin Academy for making a serious health issue of our heart health and commemorating National Heart Month a little more fun with a memorable jump roping competition. Thank you to Miss Hartmeyer and to all the faculty, staff and students who make this annual event possible. Stay young at heart. Be strong. Don’t give up hope. Be Kind. It’ll get hard. Remember life is like a jump rope.
Sincerely, Trish
