Hello March. The month of green. I want you to march right over and enjoy my 4 favorite green goodies in the Delaware Park neighborhood of Buffalo. I’m confident you will enjoy them all.

1. Green Smoothie.  The Squeeze Juicery on Elmwood Avenue offers the “Green Eyed Lady” made with Spinach, Kale, Pineapple, Banana, Flax Seed, Hemp Seed & Maca. It’s mega delicious. 

2. Green Salad. Coles on Elmwood has been serving up the Chicken, gorgonzola, grape salad for years. It never diappoints. 

3. Spinach Bread. Do yourself a favor and try Henry’s Famous Spinach Loaf at JT’s on Elmwood Avenue. Who doesn’t like whipped butter, spinach, garlic & romano cheese on a toasted loaf of bread?

4. Key Lime Pie. During the Spring time the Lexington Co-Op on Elmwood Avenue features the Key Lime Pie with all it’s tangy, sweet, light, creamy and refreshing goodness.

Green is such a vivid color. Green is the color of spring and rebirth, of fiddleheads and beans. There are so many stunning shades of green leaves. Green serves as the  background to make all the other colors look so vibrant. Green is the grass that covers the earth and green is just so very lush. Green is the good stuff to eat, and we all know that we should all have green plants in our house for cleaner air. 

The month of March is synonymous with the color green. Give credit to St. Patrick and the shamrock that is so closely associated with the popular Irish saints message of explaining the concept of the Holy Trinity. If you don’t mind, I would like to share a few more of my favorite green things out there. 

Perrier water bottles, the Starbucks logo, the Shamrock Shake, arugula, avocados and kale. There’s pistachios, basil plants, boxwood shrubs, and wreaths. The young fiddle heads are a wonder to see. There are students from Nardin and Nichols wearing their green school color hoodies. We can’t forget the Statue of Liberty, Granny Smith apples, fig plants and green goodness salad dressing. Can you think of some more?
